Frequently Asked Questions
A flyer is typically a single flat sheet, unfolded, designed to convey a message quickly and economically. A brochure is folded — usually into two or three panels — and tends to carry more detailed information in a more organized, structured format. Flyers are great for events, promotions, and mass distribution. Brochures work better when you need to walk a reader through a product, service, or story.
The most common options are the bi-fold, which divides the sheet into four panels, and the tri-fold, which creates six panels and is probably the most recognized brochure format. We also offer the Z-fold, gate fold, roll fold, and accordion fold for projects that need something a little more distinctive. If you're not sure which fold suits your content, bring us your copy and we'll help you figure out the best layout.
Yes, and it makes a meaningful difference. Scoring creates a clean, precise fold line that prevents cracking on heavier stocks and gives the finished piece a professional appearance. We score all folded brochures on heavier card stocks.
The most common starting sheet for a tri-fold brochure is 8.5x11, which folds down to a compact 3.67x8.5 — a size that fits neatly into a standard rack card display or a coat pocket. For bi-fold brochures, 8.5x11 and 11x17 are both popular depending on how much content you need to accommodate. We can also produce brochures in custom sizes if your project calls for it.
